On August 9, the European Commission decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on galvanized steel imported from China at a rate of 17.2% -28.5%.
Through request of local galvanized manufacturer Thyssenkrupp, ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel, during a period of eight months of investigation, the EU eventually imposed on China’s imports of galvanized steel temporary anti-dumping tax. The news will benefit the steel mills and help them increase their local market share and profitability. According to data from an investment bank, the EU imports of coated plates from China increased 45% this year, accounting for 51% of the EU’s total imports.
